Shannon Meiner began playing violin in the 8th grade. She has since performed with the Oakland Youth Orchestra, the Oakland Homeschool Symphony, the MYAF/MSBOA All-Michigan Honors Orchestra, the Birmingham Musicale String Ensemble, and the All-State Honors Orchestra.
In addition, Shannon was the recipient of the Jean Hohmeyer String Award in 2006. She has also performed for the Michigan Society of University Women and the Birmingham Musicale, and received a scholarship from the Oakland Youth Orchestra. She was also a substitue musician with the Rochestrer Symphony Orchestra in 2006 and 2007.
Shannon is currently a member of the Macomb Symphony Orchestra, the Lapeer Civic Symphony, and the OrionChamber Music Society Orchestra. She also enjoys spending a part of her summer in masterclasses with the Kniesel Trio, a group of Juliard graduates. Shannon continues to study with Martha Windschief and is currently attending Oakland Community College.

Hobbies/Interests
Shannon enjoys horseback riding and gardening. She is also a Detroit Tigers fan and has been attending games since 1994.
