Janet Von Eberstein remembers coming home from school in the fall of 4th Grade with a desire to play flute in the school band.  That desire has grown from just flute to all music. Janet, a retired (2011) band director from Royal Oak Schools, also served the district as the Vocal & Instrumental Music Coordinator over much of her career.  Janet has a Bachelor of Music degree from Wayne State University with graduate work from Wayne State University and the University of Michigan. Janet has studied privately with Ervin Monroe and Jeff Zook.  She frequently performs as a free lance musician around the metro area.  

Hobbies/Interests
As a long time resident of Royal, Janet loves the community and its support for the Arts.

During her off hours she loves to needlepoint, cook, go to concerts/movies and just plain hang out with family and friends.
