Lori Newman is currently finishing her doctorate at Michigan State University (ABD, 2009) in Flute Performance.
She received her Master's Degree in Flute Performance from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Flute Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Lori holds positions with the Ann Arbor Symphony, the Pontiac-Oakland Symphony, and the Rochester Symphony Orchestra. She also has performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Flint Symphony Orchestra, Warren Symphony Orchestra, and the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. Lori has taught on the faculty at Oakland University, and has been a private teacher for over twenty years. She is a frequent recitalist and master class clinician throughout Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin.
Hobbies/Interests
Lori loves sports, especially baseball and college football (GO BLUE!), animals, good bad TV, and shoes.
