Patty Elnicky, Viola

Education/Teaching/Performance Experience
I have been playing viola since the age of ten, and I participated in Clawson’s school orchestras and choirs. I also played in Metropolitan Youth Symphony of Southfield, and Fairlane Youth Chamber Group of Dearborn.
I attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as a Viola Performance Major, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music and Psychology in 1991.
When I finally figured out what I wanted to be when I grew up, I went back to school and received my Teacher’s Certificate through Oakland University in 2005.
2001 to present: I have been an Orchestral instructor at Woodland Park Academy in Grand Blanc, MI

Hobbies/Interests (Music or non-music related)
I enjoy playing chamber music, recording in the music studio, and performing with orchestras such as Oakland, Rochester, Warren and Macomb.

Quote or Philosophy
I have spent most of my life playing, singing and enjoying music. My goal is to help students discover their own love of music, and help guide them through the learning process through patience, practice and performance.
