Dominic holds a Bachelor of Science in Music degree from Central Michigan University, where he studied with John Nichol (classical saxophone) and Rob Smith (jazz improvisation) and a Masters in Improvisation at the University of Michigan with Dr. Andrew Bishop.  While at CMU, he performed with the Synergos Sax Quartet for four years, and the university’s award-winning Jazz Lab I. At U of M, he played lead alto saxophone in the Jazz Ensemble. He has performed at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival, the Michigan Jazz Festival, and the Detroit International Jazz Festival.

Dominic is currently a member of the Dr. Prof. Leonard King Orchestra, as well as progressive soul-pop band Paddlebots.  He also leads and composes for a big band of his own, the Moving Mind Orchestra. Dominic has been teaching private lessons for several years, and spent four years as an instructor and counselor at CMU’s Summer Music Institute.  He finds private teaching to be a particularly rewarding experience for both teacher and student.

Hobbies/Interests

Dom is interested in composing and arranging music, good stories in any medium (books, movies, tv shows), travel, and history.
