Patty Elnicky

Violin & Viola – Waterford DVCo – $25 per half hour
Studio full and not currently accepting students

Patty attended the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, where she participated in the University Symphony Orchestra and the Women’s Glee Club. She graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Psychology. After several years of working in the corporate world, she returned to school to obtain her teaching certificate in Music K-12 from Oakland University. She taught String Orchestra at Woodland Park Academy in Grand Blanc from 2001 – 2018. She has also been teaching private lessons since 2001, and joined the fabulous team at McCourt’s/DVC in 2010. Currently, Patty is working as a math and reading interventionist, and plans on pursuing her Masters in Reading and Language Arts. While the course of her teaching career is changing, she has, and always will have, a passion for teaching strings.

Patty has played viola for many community orchestras throughout the years including, but not limited to, Oakland Symphony, Rochester Symphony, Warren (Motor City) Symphony, Flint Symphony, and Macomb Symphony Orchestras. She also plays in string quartets and trios, in pit orchestras for musicals, and loves to sing…anywhere and everywhere she can (until someone asks her to stop). When Patty is not teaching, playing, or singing, she is busy spending time with her husband, two kids, and two cats. She is an avid reader and life-long learner, loves boating and kayaking, and has a slight obsession with researching food, nutrition, and health.
