Steve Kosinski has been a private voice teacher, music educator and professional actor/singer for over 35 years. He has appeared in many Broadway and national touring company productions including “Sweeney Todd”, “Woman of the Year”, “Pirates of Penzance”, and “Shenandoah”. Steve holds a Bachelor’s degree from Central Michigan University with double majors in Theatre and Music, as well as an MM in Opera/Music Theatre from Southern Illinois University. He has done extensive post-graduate work with vocal pedagogy and vocal production. As a retired public school educator, Steve has maintained a private voice studio for many years. His students have won many NATS competitions and received significant scholarships from major conservatories and universities. Many have gone on to professional careers in Broadway, opera, studio, pop, rock and jazz arenas.
The care and nurture of the physical instrument of each student is foremost in Steve’s teaching technique. He always emphasizes comfortable, natural production, along with a connection to the lyrics and dynamic aspects of actually performing a piece of music in an appropriate style. Steve is comfortable guiding singers in all areas of interest, from pop/rock to country, classical to jazz, with a particular expertise in musical theatre.
Steve enjoys singing, playing and listening to music of any kind, theatre, movies, concerts, skiing, golf, reading and spending time with my wife and four kids
